What to wear on a 6 AM flight to Mumbai
Board in it, land in it, walk into the 10 AM in it. One outfit, zero changes, and nothing in the backpack you don’t need.
The 6:05 out of Bengaluru doesn’t care that you have a 10 AM in BKC. Security at 4:50, a middle seat, a cab through Kurla traffic, then a room full of people who slept in their own beds. Here’s how to dress once and not think about it again.
The 5 AM problem
Early flights break outfits in three places: the cold cabin, the warm arrival, and the crease line across your lap. Most clothes solve one. Blazers win the meeting and lose the flight. Tracksuits win the flight and lose the meeting.
The fix isn’t a second outfit in your bag. It’s three pieces that each do two jobs.
“Dress for the meeting. Then make sure the flight can’t tell.”
— The one rule of the 6 AM flight
Layer 1: a tee that doesn’t keep score
Start with the layer touching your skin for the next 14 hours. The Coolest Tee is cut from Temperform™, our fabric made exclusively for ReplyAll in India. It feels cool the second it’s on and keeps regulating as the day heats up1, which matters when Mumbai is already 31°C before 9 AM.
Why not your favourite cotton crew?
Cotton holds on to sweat. By the time you’re through arrivals, it’s showing exactly where the backpack straps were. Temperform wicks it out and dries before the cab reaches the Sea Link.
Layer 2: the overshirt that does the blazer’s job
Cabins run cold at 6 AM. The Field Day Overshirt is in Urbanweave™, a plain-woven nylon first built for parachutes and utility gear. It holds a sharp shoulder line, breathes, and doesn’t crush under a seatbelt.

Open over the Coolest Tee. Sleeves up for the cab, down for the meeting.
Wear it open on the plane. Button it once in the lift at the client’s office. That’s the whole transformation.

8:42 AM, Terminal 2. Same outfit that left home at 4:30.
Layer 3: joggers that pass for trousers
The All In Joggers are in Flexknit™: four-way stretch for a three-seat row, fast recovery so the knees don’t bag, and a smooth face that reads as a trouser across a conference table.
The 30-second test
Sit cross-legged on your bed for 30 seconds, then stand up. If the knees have kept a souvenir, they’re not flight trousers.
What goes in the backpack
- Laptop and charger. Obviously.
- A rolled Easy Day Tee for the flight home, not the meeting.
- Clean socks. The one thing no fabric fixes.
- White sneakers you can wear in and out. Leave the formal shoes at home.
Landing at 8:30, meeting at 10
Wash your face, push the sleeves down, button the overshirt once. That’s the change. Nobody in the room will know you were in a middle seat four hours ago, and that’s the point.
